I understand what you say about removing features being seen as a waste of time. I think writing a shiny new widget is seen as &quot;development&quot; because something new has been created, whereas maintaining software is not particularly exciting to most people.</description>

Please feel free to delete this comment if you make the corrections.  And I definitely agree with the points you make, I often make changes in programs at work to remove obsolete features, for example a set of program options that support software we don&#039;t use anymore.  I often get eye-rolling from some colleagues that I&#039;m &quot;wasting my time&quot; by removing this obsolete code.</description>
